Assistant Leader Neguse Releases Statement on Creation of Litigation/Response Task Force
Washington, D.C. — House Assistant Minority Leader Joe Neguse (CO-02) released the following statement after being appointed by Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to chair the Litigation Working Group and Rapid Response Task Force (the “Litigation/Response Task Force”). Leader Jeffries announced the task force in a Dear Colleague to the caucus earlier this morning, also naming as co-chairs Reps. Rosa DeLauro, Gerry Connolly, and Jamie Raskin.
“I believe this is a perilous moment for our republic, as we work to protect and defend the Constitution and the American people. In just the past month, the Trump administration has issued a series of executive orders and administrative actions that are unconstitutional and will impose dire consequences for everyday Americans across the country. These actions warrant a decisive response, which is why our Task Force will work relentlessly to develop comprehensive legislative, oversight and legal strategies — to vindicate the constitution, and the rights of the American people.”
